The magnificent Crystal Cathedral Choir under the direction of Don Neuen performs Mark Hayes' incredibly beautiful anthem, with Tom Leonard at Piano and Sean Groombridge at the Hazel Wright organ. The words and music are hauntingly beautiful:
----------------
Breath of Life
by Mark Hayes
Emptiness and dark,
blackness of night,
silent universe,
void of any light.
Who has the answers?
Who holds the key?
Who plants the seed
that causes life to be?
In one small moment,
one strand of time:
chaos to reason,
nonsense to rhyme.
Morning out of night,
darkness into light,
Creator God
breathes a word,
the origin of life!
God is the breath of life,
source of our being.
God holds in hand
the seed of ev'ry soul,
ev'ry soul.
Eternal Living Stream,
Never Ending Fountain,
Genesis of all that is
and all that is to be
Spirit of God,
the Breath of Life!
Who points the sky in all its beauty?
Who shapes the mountains with His Hand?
Who forms each wave that crashes on the shores?
All creation lives,
all creation lives,
all creation lives at God's command!
You are the breath of life,
source of our being.
You hold in hand the seed of ev'ry soul,
ev'ry soul.
Eternal Living Stream,
Never Ending Fountain,
Genesis of all that is
and all that is to be
Spirit of God,
the Breath of Life,
the Breath of Life,
the Breath of Life!
Sean is an excellent organist. What has happened to him?

@Sesquiltera It's true. When I lived in SoCal I attended the evening service at the CC and got to enjoy their playing every week. They're both fantastic musicians and all around great people too!

Under the direction of Don Neuen the choir sounded really great, it's a shame that he had to leave after Sheila Schuller's judgemental reaction to the professionaly paid choirmembers. She is ruining the Crystal Cathedral with her "lift your hands happy slappy joy joy evangelical biggot" buffoonery. She also chased away R.Schuller junior calling his sermons not anointed, Schuller jr. gave an extensive interview about this I was hartbroken and sad.

Wonderful. It's odd to see Tom and the piano and Sean at the organ. It seems these days the opposite is the norm.
