I'd like to see a video of it without the IR iluminator. I'll bet it's worthless without that.

I have the ATN VIPER. This video is semi-misleading. A normal video camera is very poor around dusk anyway. Where your own sight can still clearly see the habitat, just as the sun is vanishing out of sight, video camera (youtube standard) footage will show this as being night and dark, when it's still visible if you stood there in person. If you video it through the VIPER it will appear like proper night vision, but it's not. In reality it's semi dark anyway, made to look like it's pitch black.

I really don't want to spend a lot of dough on night vision monocular with a head mount. I keep hearing the viper is crap. My usage for this is Night MILSIM operations, not military usage. I know the IR laser included is not very well, so I will just buy a PEQ-2. How would you rate this?

@DudeHolyCrap69 Not bad actually...but of course, I wouldn't run about ALL the time with it coz trees and this thing don't mix well. Use it to scope out the terrain, then pop it up and go. That's how I use them.
