This is one heat from our race tonight. Instead of our normal 1 minute crash and burn heats, we ran 3 minute "crash and pit" heats with fuel management. If you deslot, you were marshaled back on, but you had to pit (stop under the light bridge) for a stop and go penalty. Fuel burn depends on lap speed, but was set to require two+ full tanks to finish the heat. If you run out of fuel, you're out of the heat. Splash and Dash was allowed, so winners often were decided by clever refueling techniques. It can be hard to stop just under the light bridge without nosing up to it, so sometimes people would run out of fuel because they kept overshooting the pit area.

Cars were stock Slot.it Group C cars with P6 tires and no more than 140 grams of magnetic downforce. The track tonight was all Scalextric Sport track.

It was a great night and a lot of fun. I hope we run more like this every so often.

Rest in Peace, Dale. :(

  • I thought at first thus was without magnets and thought nice then realised they had them in, :(

  • @leeg131313 Yeah, this series was with magnets. We did run them later without mags, though. We also ran the Racer Sideways DPR cars both mag and no mag over the last year. It looks like the PSSRA will be doing a lot less magnet racing starting this year, though. Most of us prefer no-mag, if only for the lack of headaches trying to keep things even and legal when magnets are involved.

  • let me ask a question.how do u connect the the corners of the track together with out any gaps beetween the 2 tracks

  • @MrMore4 If your track has gaps, then it's probably being tweaked too much in order to connect at the ends. Using a track editor, like the one in Ultimate Racer 3.0, can help a lot, but you might just need to fiddle a bit more, or pick up some odd pieces like quarter or short straights so that the track isn't being pulled so much to connect.

  • im Want to get fuel management like ur track greg, asuming this is the same greg i emailed on fb just 10 mins ago lol

  • @therealhustle2oo8 This isn't my track, but I can tell you that the owner uses a DS timer connected to his computer which runs the RmX software that can be found at scaleslots

  • Nice video, Greg! The refueling seems to be fun.

  • @bigmarv27 Yeah, it's a pretty small track to boot. The faster guys were doing 3.5 second laps and stuff, up to 50 laps in 3 minutes, and that's with the refueling time! It's a fun track, even with it's relative shortness.

  • "Wooo very fast pace there"
