Cash for Clunkers - Will we ever get our money?

Its been three weeks since the program started and we still havent received a dime from the government. Not only does it affect the dealerships pockets, it affects everyone involved including the consumer.

If you read the regulations, once a person named on the title of a car traded, any additional trades with his name on the title will be void. If a husband-wife who have both names on the title of both of their cars, trades in their car at one dealer and puts the new car in the wife's name, and in a second transaction at a different dealers puts the new car in the husband's name, one of the transactions will not be allowed. Rejection will occur, even though preliminary approval was received.

The last guy on the video has it right. If you have ever done business with the govt you know in the best system it will take 2-3 months to get your money. But this is a brand new program, with no system in place. I would count on 6-12 months. You would have been better off not accepting program and selling cars at inflated prices to non-clunker customers when the inventorys of the other dealers are depleted.
