the four freshmen- one of the freshest sounds among all vocal groups...

sometimes by chance you hear a song on the radio and it hits you hard where it counts- this is one of those songs that did it for me.

i'm still learning about the group and the personnel at different times, but what an exciting group to study!

  • Beautifully well done to a beautiful song -even without orchestral accompaniment.

  • @BH21206 Thanks so much for watching and a great comment!

  • Beeen a Freshmen fan since I was eighteen(now 76), their sound is still fresh and touching. I'm glad the new Fresmen can carry on the sound.

  • @007pml That is indeed a special sound, and it's great that there are guys continuing the classics.

  • @bstz44 Oh, there are lots of us who still buy the cds and forget about the downloads. I buy the cds for the same reason I still will buy an album- I enjoy seeing the cover art and reading liner notes and learning about the who's and what's that went into a recording. I have the Four Freshmen on cds and if I find the albums, I buy those too. You're right, some cds you have to have. And you're right about this being a labor of love- these men really widened my musical horizons.

  • @tomovox Thank you for doing this. I spent the better part of Saturday evening listening to all the old favorites. I really had forgotten how wonderful they were and in fact, I just went on amazon and ordered three of their cds. My friends think I am nuts when I buy CDs and don't download songs, but there are just some Cds you have to have and these are they. Thanks again tomovox for doing this. This must have been a labor of love

  • @bstz44 I'm always so happy to hear from people who love this song and the group. I know how you feel too when you say you like the real thing. I love the Temptations, but I probably won't ever see the group in concert. I know the newer guys are good, but for me, I would only keep thinking of how great and powerful the original 60's lineup was. I would consider seeing the Four Freshmen now, but it would probably be the same feeling as I have about the Tempts. Thanks for your great comment!

  • I grew up with two older brothers who listened to these guys and I was indoctrinated at a young age and I never never get tired of listening to this harmony like no other ever. The guys who copy them are good, but I like the real thing and thank you for uploading this for all of us to enjoy

  • @artwitstick That sounds like a true treasure to have that sheet music! This music is just a hit across the board: great memories for those who grew up with the song and the group and a new favorite for those who have come to love it in recent years!

  • I have the sheet music to this song by Chet Forrest and Bob Wright. The chord progressions are wonderful. Maybe that is where the Freshmen got their ideas for this beautiful rendition. Great memories!
