Here's a Crosley D-25CE table-top radio still on the workbench and being turned on for the first time after it was put back into its cabinet after replacing all the old tubular and filter capacitors -- tuned to radio station AM 740 Toronto, Canada.

  • I love listening to 740 Zoomer Radio AM from Toronto. I listen to the old radio programs Mon. thru Thurs. from 10:00 to 11:00 pm. They`re real cool

  • @thegalaxybeing Cool. Thanks for the info.

  • Wow, I don't know if it's a new item, or if I just overlooked it on their website, but the company calling itself Crosley makes a radio that looks almost exactly like this one now, except it seems to only come in black.

  • That's cool. A company calling itself Crosley makes a more contemporary radio that has a dial and/or clock similar to this old one.

  • Very beatutiful radio. Awsome piece.

I remember this music very well . I think it is around 1979. It was played a lot

    here in Brazil.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Update:

The 2nd radio in "Killers from Space" is a Crosley too. It's a Crosley F-5.

  • This is looks identical to the Crosley Radio that appears in the bedroom scene of the movie "Killers from Space". Of course the movie is B&W so I don't know if it's the same color.

The radio first appears 13 and a half minutes into the movie and there is a close-up at about 14 min.

Since the movie was made around 1953, this would've been a new radio at the time.

A different radio appears in the movie at 28 and a half minutes during a gas station scene. Can't quite make out the brand.

  • Good looking radio, sounds real good.

  • Joe,

Very good-looking and sounding unit. You also have some good AM stations there...more than where I live. Alas.

I believe I'll subscribe to your vids. :-)

    Regards,

    John (Badrestorer)
