Vienna traditional *DRUNT' IN DER LOBAU* 1932 - Michael Schugalte - INSTRUMENTAL

Famous Waltz from Vienna, played 1932 by Michael SCHUGALTE and his Orchester, old pictures of kissing love couples. The title "Drunt' in der Lobau...(hab ich ein Mädel geküßt)" means: "Down by the Lobau... ( ...I have kissed a girl...)" Composer Heinrich STRECKER.
The Lobau is a Vienna floodplain on the northern side of the Danube and partly in Großenzersdorf, Lower Austria. It has been part of the Danube-Auen National Park since 1996 and has been a protected area since 1978. It is used as a recreational area and is known as a site of nudism. There is also an oil harbour, and the Austrian Army uses the Lobau as a training ground. In addition to the water coming from the Alps through the Wiener Hochquellenwasserleitung, the Lobau is a source of groundwater for Vienna.
The Donauinsel (Vienna Danube Island) borders the Lobau.

mein gott wie wunderbar "drunt in derlobau, wenn ich das platzerl nur wüsst, drunt in der lobau hab ich ein mäderl geküsst..." ich kann sogar den text noch. bin damit aufgewachsen... jessas ist das grossartig, eine deiner besten arbeiten (oder ich bin heute ganz besonders melancholisch?!). ganz ganz berührend, hier merkt man wirklich was "wien" ausmacht. und ich hoff dass nicht all das verloren geht.......
