@mysticpasos I just dont think he likes people being near him in the stable. He does this to everyone, especially if he senses your nervous. I dont get nervous i just go in and do my job because if i wait for him to respond he just gets more aggrovated and mean. He's fine out of the stable but he tries to nip sometimes. The yard owner put it down to teething but that dosent explain his rude behaviour towards people. On some days he is worse than on others. Thank you for helping :)

Were fine, there is still a horse called Del, he's a little pony, but nomatter how i treat him if im patient or not when i groom him he tries to bite me, he gets aggrovated when i brush him, i dont understand how to stop this. Its not nice as i have to hold his head to go threw the other side otherwise he will bite me. He also pins his ears back too :( Im trying working with him every weekend, but there isnt much of a result unfortunatly, thank you for your help! :) Any more tips are welcome. :)

@GeorginaEa Interesting. I'd start by seeing if he is experiencing pain. Some horses have sensitive skin and don't enjoy being brushed. You might try a softer brush or one of those really soft curry combs. Note if there is a particular spot that hurts him. He may need a chiropractic adjustment. If pain isn't the source of the problem, you might arm yourself with a hoof pick or screw driver. You don't hurt him, but allow him to run into them. Consistently. Consequence, not punishment.

I work at a stables. And when i go to tack certain horses up, they pin there ears back and try there best to bite me, i know its because im entering there stable, there comfort zone, but its a job that needs to be done, how can i show them im not there to hurt them, that im someone they can trust, you know what im trying to say i guess, please any help you can give me would be much appreciated, i dont want them to feel threatened any more! I want them to trust me and respect me! Thanks Georginax

@GeorginaEa Change their attitude by changing yours. Instead of telling them what you are going to do, ask them if they would like to do it and give them the time to choose to do what you want. Set it up and wait. Instead of catching your horse, have your horse catch you. Wait for him to open for the bit. Tighten a girth in 5 steps. It will take more time the first time, but by giving the horse a choice, the activity becomes something the horse owns, not something forced on him. Make sense?

@mysticpasos Yes, wow thank you so much! :) I will try this im going tomorrow, i will update you on how it goes, would treats help, apples maybe? :)

@GeorginaEa Horses develop defensive attitudes when people treat them rudely. Treats certainly can help the horse think about the human more positively. Just make sure to reward the behavior you want, not the behavior you don't want. For example, I treat horses as I say "pretty ears" when their ears are forward. Do it often enough and you can ask the horse for "pretty ears" and get an immediate change in expression. Looking forward to your update.
