Fabián Carrera plays "Zapateado Ecuatoriano." Composed by Maestro Carlos Bonilla Chávez, the name is derived from the Spanish word "zapato" which means "shoe." On the other hand, the word "zapatear" means to stike with a shoe much like a Flamenco or Pasodoble style of dance.
The "Zapadeado" is danced to 6/8 time. Other characteristics of the dance are its upbeat and lively tempo.
The "Zapadeado" is a rich part of the wonderful Ecuadorian traditions.
