Yes, because the fact that you think Gavin Harrison isn't as good as Buddy Rich, the guy revered as the best drummer of all time, totally shows you know everything about drummers. Every single drummer alive (I guarantee) has already heard Buddy Rich. Also, Gavin Harrison is not all about speed; he focuses more on understanding the mechanics behind more complex rhythms and being able to play them as quickly and precisely as he does. He's got some stuff in his arsenal. His musicality is good when the music is playing but as far as pure technique goes most of his 'speed' comes from bounce strokes. He's got no sustaining single stroke power. @2:21 I can do w/ one hand and one foot. its not that fast.

Young drummers need to listen to the masters.
