  • 20 to 30 jobs? This is so lame dud, when we could be growing good plastics with industrial hemp! Wake up and see that hemp is energy green energy and green plastics and the way we have become fossil fuel dependent is dead end for all of us. HempLife.us APR4U

  • Making a green polyol does not solve the problem since the toxicity resides with the MDI and TDI. These "green foams" are not at all biodegradable since it follows the same regular reaction (polyol + isocyanates) to form the nonbiodegradable polyurethane.

  • PU materials are on the EPA's watch list as toxic materials. "The U.S. EPA has released a new action plan for chemicals used in spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation. Isocyanates, such as MDI are highly reactive chemicals that can cause skin, eye, and lung irritation, asthma, and chemical sensitization when absorbed through the skin or inhaled." (May 2011)
