If men wanted their children they would not be DUMPING them. Children do not need their fathers they need mothers to survive. If a child does not have the father it will be fine. Children of single mothers do much better than those with neglectful single fathers who leave them all over the place, dump them on their parents, dump them on the new wife dump them at daycare just DUMP THEM. DADS are not MOTHERS or men would do child care, nursing, social work and not as managers hating on kids. FARCE

@AnneFox7, I am sorry to say your view is not reflected by the research which shows fathers can be just as important as mothers given the opportunity - Kingsley Miller

UCL biography
One of the most influential was Maternal Deprivation Reassessed (1972) in which he argued (against John Bowlby) that it was the norm for children to form multiple attachments rather than a selective attachment with just one person. Professor Rutter is recognised as contributing to the establishment of child psychiatry as a medical and biopsychosocial specialty with a strong scientific base.
