Whenever this game gets brought up, I always hear people talk shit about it. This game wasn't Symphony of the Night but it was way more gothic and dark then Symphony of the Night. And besides I think it had way better storylines and character development than the many games where a "guy with a whip goes to kill Dracula." And for the 64, it looks good, too.

This is my favorite death version from all cv games. I like the huge pirahnas move too. Castlevania legacy of darkness really deserves a remake and it is very underrrated :(

I never thought of that, but you're right this is the only Castlevania game where you kill vampires! I saw beta screenshots of this game and it was supposed to have a leveling up system, a meter on the screen to power up your attacks, and a playable character with a gun and a chainsaw for a hand named Corell. If that stuff would've been included this game would've been a major hit. Remember that scene where you see that Angel statue cry blood? That was the creepiest moment for me.

RIGHT ON!! i felt really engage with the characters, especially Rosa's suicidal act, which is something that gave me goosebumps because that was something i have never seen in a game before.

Playing this game is like playing the first Castlevania because of the platform.style.

Also, its very important to note that this is the ONLY Castlevania game where you can kill VAMPIRES, hence, the VAMPIRE KILLER Whip really lives up to its name.
