My theory is that Charmaine is an AMERICAN artist who honors her Filipino heritage. The Filipino media is only interested in Filipinos who try to be American! (Imitators). Charmaine will be famous in the USA before the Filipino media pays attention. She makes big contributions to her native culture, but the media thinks the natives are only interested in gossip and soap operas.
