Designed for users who have never picked up a radio before, this video will cover 3 important tips that should be regarded at all times when using two-way radios on the job site.
Hi @mikesmultimedia, we'd be happy to provide you further information on portable radios in a production setting; please give Shawn a call at 888-860-8016 and he can provide you all the information you require. Thanks!
I'm looking for a set of radios to use with a headphone and mic combo to keep the communication quite during photo / video productions between me and 1 or 3 assistants and the client.
I would say I'll need coverage at least inside a typical hotel lobby, ball room, or house, or outside at a park. I've noticed the Motorola Radio CP200's are deemed to be very popular, but what do you think, especially for battery life good earpiece/mic attachments, durable. Thanks.
Shawn means that it's not good to speak directly into the diaphram. He's not suggesting that the radio should be tilted, but rather that the 45 degree angle (while held vertically) will prevent garbled transmissions caused by speaking directly into it. You are right; two way radios are polarized and greater range is achieved holding the radio vertically.
Hi @802mtnsvt, we appreciate your feedback; we have two reasons for highlighting these particular tips. The first is because this video is designed for someone who has never used a two way radio before, and the second is because we are able to draw attention to the most common causes of damage to radios our service department receives. As simple as these tips are, they make a significant difference to the longevity of our clients' radios. Thanks for watching!

Hi @radiosification,
Shawn means that it's not good to speak directly into the diaphram. He's not suggesting that the radio should be tilted, but rather that the 45 degree angle (while held vertically) will prevent garbled transmissions caused by speaking directly into it. You are right; two way radios are polarized and greater range is achieved holding the radio vertically.
Thanks for checking out our channel!

The first tip is terrible it will reduct the range a lot holding the radio sideways like that. You should hold it straight upwards
