Here's a tune I wrote
while out on my boat
My guitar's short a string
and I can hardly sing
but here's the thing:

I am a Miramichier and Im mighty proud of that
Ive been from Boiestown to the Bay and Taxis to Tabisuntac
All along this river, boys, were different from the rest
When they say, Hows she goin?, we say, The very best.

Chorus: The very best, boys. The very best.
When they say, Hows she goin? We say the very best.

I went for an edubecation up in old Ottawa town
But when I started talking folks just laughed me up and down
Where did you learn to talk like that? with me they werent impressed
Now they say,Hows she goin? and I say, The very best.

Chorus: The very best, boys. The very best.
When they say, Hows she goin? We say the very best.

Once I was in Newfoundland with a sweet young Newfie girl
Her father was from up Dildo way, and her ma was from Mount Pearl
And when she asked me, Whattaya at? Me heart bout had an arrest
Now she says, Hows she goin? and I says, The very best.

Chorus: The very best, boys. The very best.
When they say, Hows she goin? We say the very best.

Once I lived in Montreal with a jolie Quebecoise
She taught me to parlezvous le dingdong before I knew what it was
She asked me How to say Comment ca va?, in the land where I was blessed
Now she says, Hows she goin? and I says, The very best.

Chorus

I spent some years in Istanbul with some sweet young Turkish delights
Who told me Canim, seni sevioyorum for a thousand and one nights
Twas all for education, and they passed my every test.
Now they say, Hows she goin? And I say, The very best.

Chorus

I spent some time in Bogota with a sweet young mamacita
She taught me how to salsa, and a few things I cant repeat-a
And as we danced beneath the moon, and hip to hip we pressed,
Shed say, Hows she goin? and Id say, The very best.

Chorus

Now my song is ended, boys, and I bid yous all adieu
I have had my share of adventures, and misadventures, too.
Now as I go home every night, and slowly get undressed
My wife says, Who the hecks this girl from Quebec?
And how about that Turk? You jerk!

How were all them women in all them ports you been in?
And I say, The very best!

Chorus 2x
