Nice truck those 80's and early 9os burbans were the best my dad drove a 91 2500 one for 350k of new england winters and summers driving on the beach without major issues, still wish we had that truck. And great job proving low and slow wins over all these videos of people reving there motors and spining tires everywere.
-
spin a little but good, i got a 77 burban i just got, im workin on, wat kinda tires

i was wrather rude prior, i do apologize, for the record though, they stopped using the np205's after 85, its true some were built with np205's after the fact, however it was leftover stock. most were the np208's and np241, which i had forgotten all about, i hadnt seen one in such a long time. the sm465's are good transmission, i had one in an 89 pick up i just got rid of, however, the lack of od made gas mileage an issue, offroading she performed great, damn thing was unstoppable.
-
NP205's were used until 1991 alongside the NP208 and later NP241, actually. You're looking under the wrong trucks apparently.
-
Actually, it would have been 32 spline. Ford is the only company that used 31 spline transmission outputs.
Get your parts right bud, its a 3/4 ton, it came with and NP241 chain transfer, Muncie SM465 31 spline 4spd, TBI 350, 14 bolt SF rear and shit corporate 10 up front, it now has SM465 10 spline, NP205 gear transfer, 14 bolt FF rear and D60 up front, I just liked the angle and yes its in 2wd, the front driveline was bound up into the CM when this video was taken, I have all 1 ton running gear now and use it mainly to tug around our toy hauler, Burbs are a little big for extreme wheeling.

In the video the gears, tranny and transfer were done but I was still running on the 8 lug 14 bolt SF rear and 8 lug corporate up front and you can hear the rear chirp upon accent from 2wd
