This man is one of the most talented to come along in a great while. And no tjnies, it's not about suicide. It's about a soldier dying on the battle field ("tracer" rounds, Elysium-where according to some folklore, soldiers go after dying heroically on the battlefield, etc.)
When i hear this song, i think of a soldier dying from a gunshot wound.
A soldier thinking of The One He Loves as he dies from his wound. The Repo man will collect his wife's things because he wont be able to provide any longer.
It's his last moments. Touching, powerful. Tradgic.
I don't think it's about suicide, but definitely about losing life one way or another when all he can think of is the beloved one. I would not play it at a wedding, a bit too melancholy...
The song is about Omaha and Utah Beach in Normandy. He's dying near the beach and his love is back home.

@tjnies He's reflecting on the girl he loves and their life together as he's dying on a battlefield.
