@itchyundies US signed a peace treaty with North & South Vietnam in Jan 1973. If North found a peaceful political solution with the South there was billions for development and cleanup of the country. However, North Vietnam could not stop its agression of the South and conquered them in 1975. This broke the treaty and ended all financial incentives for the North. The North assumed all responsibility for Vietnam with no future help from US financially or otherwise. We are free to do nothing.

You make a lot of sense. Why would Americans want any responsibility for Vietnam now? Vietnam had their chance before 1975 conquest of South Vietnam to receive large cash support for clean-up and other peace dividends from their original agreements with the US and South Vietnam. North Vietnam preferred to conquer South Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia like some big Asian pig. Now they want the peace dividends now they think Americans are stupid enough to fall for their continued propaganda.

@lakecloudmountain During the Vietnam conflict, the US and it's allies broke many international laws. They still do. There are moral responsibilities, the first of which is to put on trial the war criminals.

Khadafi will be next if he doesn't cool off. Drop bomb is a tactic to scare enemy but not to kill. Truely if US military want to kill, they raid the place. Oh by the way, why North Vietamese Communist kicked out American in 1975 then re-invited US Navy ships to visit DaNang Habor in 2009, 2010? I was on board USS Lassen in 2009
