  • The only one I don't understand how you did is "Tough Guy".

How do you go about training a puppy/dog to growl and be aggressive on cue as a way of protection?

  • The title 'tough guy' was really just tongue-in-cheek. While Carbon is doing bite training now, at that age all you were seeing was the 'speak' command being repeated. :-)

  • We had a really smart dog once that we taught how to roll over , sit , shake , laydown and play dead. She mastered them completely. Unfortunetly after awhile she got so ahead of the game, if you just pulled out a treat she would do all of the tricks ending with "PLay Dead" without asking. People coming over to our house, even if they had a bag of chips they were eating would be amazed at the dog who went through this routine unasked for.

  • Wonderful! Just took my 5 month old Shepherd out walking last night. Told him to stay and walked away with wife and other dog about 1/2 block before we turned around doing jumping jacks and throwing a ball. Shepherd stayed the whole time. Big rewards for that one!!! I LOVE THESE DOGS!!!!!!

  • oh wow you make it look so effortless! i dont know if your a proffesional or not but you sure looked like it. i can olnly get my gsd to sit lay and heel, "come' and wait on the retrieve is a struggle for my little guy to master but i may also being doing it wrong but none the less we have loads of fun. GREAT vid
