House Republican Leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg) remarked on Oregon ranking dead last in a national Happiness Index compiled by a national financial magazine. According to MainStreet.com, The Happiness Index, which looks at household income, debt, employment and foreclosures, is a fresh take on the old and tired Misery Index, made popular in the 1970s. The Misery Index takes into account unemployment and inflation rates and seeks to identify the most financially miserable places to live.
In this clip, Rep. Hanna talks about the need for the Legislature to focus on job creation, and making Oregon a better place to do business.
