@charadester : Actually science is based on empiricism not rationalism. Second fossil record is evidence of the existence of the creature not the changes in genetics. Creation ex nihilo is not disproved by age old fossils. It could simply mean that they were created that old.

This is the biggest load of blind ignorance I have yet scene. Kent Hovind was a fraud and is now in jail because of it. Anyone who takes him seriously really needs to read a real science book and get the facts because all a Hovinds ideas are ridiculous if not down right maliceous.

No one was around when these events were taking place. Still, no matter how imperfect the scientific method may be, it is the finest system of rational thought that mankind has EVER produced. The evidence for an old earth and evolutionary change among species is massive. The 'evidence' for Biblical events is sparse to none. I choose to support that which has the greatest amount of evidence. Our courts are based on the best evidence, and that's how origins issues should be settled as well.
