The facebook version stinks. The 2001 version has way better grphics and details. You'd think with 10 years they at least wouldn't get worse.

@MrToofuu no way dude, some remakes really are better than the originals. jimmi hendrix's "all along the watchtower" = better than Bob Dylan's original; Metallica's "Turn the Page" definitely better than Bob Seger's original; True Grit (2010) waaaayyyy better than the 1970s original. New Oregon Trail = better than original. In more ways than one. The original was a pain in the ass to play anyway. The graphics are beyond dated. And worst of all, it was nigh impossible to beat!

I thought it was part of frontierville as with the gold rush and rattlesnake canyon but I dont think they are there yet still Im enjoying this game glad to play and think of the pioneers!

@shawnpp33 I remember playing this in the mid-90's (around 1995) when I was in elementary school, so yes, it has been around and plenty of us were playing it back then.

Aregghghrg! All you had to do was make a straight port of the original!
But ofcourse, like all FaceBook games, they saw fit to dress it up in leveling and stamina mechanics.
I play Oregon Trail to play Oregon Trail. Not to play a skin of fucking FarmVille.
