i just found a very simple solution without having to remove the metal grounding piece from under the cover. Simple unscrew the MPB and screw each screw back on however not as tightly as they had been before. What this does is it doesn't allow the back plate to fully touch the metal grounding piece inside and so it doesnt scrape against the metal. Try it several times until it works, I made sure this is an alternative fix with my own MBP 17. (bottom 3 screws under the trackpad most important)
so does anyone actually know exactely from what or where the sound is comming from ? would be cool to know, mine does it aswell MBP 15inch pretty new about a year old, have'nt brought it into the shop or anything, was planning to unless it's a porblem that can't be fixed .... opinions... thx
@mattiafrigeri Thanks for the link! I pulled it apart at least 3 times since my first comment on this video. Spilled hot tea and wanted to make sure there was none inside. Then I upgraded the hard drive and later pulled out the DVD and replaced with an SSD. However until your link I was still not sure what part was making the noise. I've gotten used to it but I still might pull it out. The blog is correct, there are many other grounding points inside, so this is probably not a problem to remove.
i noticed this problem too, i took the bottom case off and found its coming from a small part right under the ram, when I removed this part the noise was gone, but it seems like the 2 metal heads on the part provide a spring back for the bottom casing so I put it back in, it doesnt seem to be an issue, just an annoying creaky part. I would like to figure out a way to fix it without removing the part, apple said theyd replace my computer but i feel all of them have the issue
Sameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Its the most annoying thing! =/

when I had a new unibody installed on my 15" macbook pro (my old one get dented), the sound went away. So it must be that something is loose.
