Muster is a special tradition at Texas A&M that takes place annually on April 21. Muster honors all Aggies who died in the past year, including current and former students and faculty members. A candle is lit in their memory, and family members and friends answer, "Here," when the deceased's name is called for Muster.

I was at that Muster. Robert Gates was very emotional when he told of the 5 Aggies he signed diplomas, deployment orders and had to write to their families telling of their sons falling in battle. My daughter's name was called that night. No matter how bad I hurt for her loss, there is one family that lost more. They lost a daughter and a son to a crazy SOB that gunned them down in their apartment. Such a waste of beautiful lives.
thank you for sharing!! my dad was an aggie and we got a notice shortly after his death that they will start announcing his name at muster, i have never been able to go. Thank you for this * with tears in eyes*
