The top part of the kettlebell snatch can be a bit of a problem. Here are a few drills and ideas to develop the "punch through"

Im topless by accident ( the clip before was an (unpublished) diary about weight loss and I forgot to put my t-shirt back on, doah)

  • I kept waiting for you to smash your TV :)

  • shame on you!!

    Axx

  • hey after you explain the punch feeling, i tried it and did my first 5 snatches! i kind of held it off because the kettlebell was hitting up my forearms pretty bad. but after, 'punching' through, no pain! thanks for sharing!

  • glad it helped.

  • yeah, watch videos on girevoy sport and you'll know how to bring it down properly. try and use chalk and competition size kbs too, your performance will increase dramatically

  • hi mate,

If you do some teaching, you'll learn you need to focus on one or two points based on your chosen subject rather than just belch out everything you think you know about a sport.

  • Great tips!

  • thanks man. your a wrist saver!

  • Kettlebells aren't really WEIGHT training, more like STRENGTH training... functional that is.

  • I'm still using a wrap to keep the bell from banging my wrist/forearm. I think its time to seek a workshop or something. I love my KBs but hate the snatch forearm lump.

  • I actually gave up on the snatches after banging my forearm and getting it sore. This method seems to work better but I think I still need some practice. Thanks for the upload.

  • Thanks, this really helps.

  • nice tip

  • Great instruction. The "Matching and Catching" makes more sense than "punching the kettlebell". I'm still fairly new at using Kettlebells but I think a good piece of advice to give beginners is to be conscious of their proper form once they become fatigued. I've noticed a lot of people get "sloppy" when they are tiring. Thanks again for the videos.
