  • Hi Fairytalecakes! This video is fantastic! A couple of questions: 1) what kind of frosting are you using? Did I hear you say, butter cream? I just know you aren't supposed to have sugar in whipped cream if it will be next to marzipan is why I am asking, it is different with fondant? 2) how long in advance can you make a cake like this? Thanks for your help!

  • @98norway Hi! Yes I used buttercream underneath the fondant. There are differenct buttercream recipes out there but basically: butter, powdered sugar and milk or water. other variations use half butter, half shortening, powdered sugar (cofectioner's sugar), liquid and flavoring (I use vanilla extract unless they want lemon or almond buttercream). THEN the fondant goes on top. Most decorators here in US do not use marzipan underneath the fondant. Hope this helps.

  • I must say - you have the weirdest taste in music! hahaha

  • @TaPetiteSoeur yea i know. it runs the gamet (?) from 40's music to 80's to rock to hip hop to reggatone, etc lol..
