Gerard Butler is Scottish.

And i don't think they are generally better but you have to keep in mind that it is more likely a directer would cast an American for an American role ( most big time roles). Knowing this, foreign actors understand they may need to be exceptionally hard working to be noticed and pointed out.. That is why most of the foreign actors in Hollywood movies are exceptional- because they're part of the immensely talented portion that were picked out.
