Texas Straght Talk - Dr. Ron Paul on The (Unconstitutional) Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act 6-15-09
http://www.house.gov/paul

Ron Paul talks about the disastrous tobacco legislation that recently passed, which simply amounts to more liberties taken away for "own own good."

"Bills like this take us down exactly the wrong path. Instead of gaining more freedom with marijuana, we are moving closer to prohibiting tobacco. Our prisons are already bursting with non-violent drug offenders. How long will it be before a black market in tobacco fills the prisons with non-violent cigarette smokers?"

  • ummmm, I guess you know very little about Ron Paul. He wants the federal government to have no say on gay marriage or abortion regardless of how he views it morally. So he does believe in what he just said. He would get the federal gov't out of those kinds of debates because they are not power granted by the Constitution, any light bulbs?

  • problem is... you didn't vote him in, it was pre-decided. He was inserted like a new part or something. So how ya gonna vote him out? The U.S. is like a thrashed stolen car that's about to get torched. Pity is, there are people still inside

  • @tatomuck18 Slavery is dealt with in an Amendment to the Constitution so no he would by nature uphold that. As far as Murder the laws regarding this are already handled by the States so there would be no change.

  • Hip hip hooray for Ron Paul!

  • I wonder if he would allow SLAVERY or MURDER to be LEGAL as long as its up to the states.

  • He is all for that. Federal Government is supposed to be bound by the constitution to stop it from becoming more powerful than the states. The fear/war state has seen it grow way bigger than it was ever supposed to become. The Federal Gov should not have anything to say about what you do with your body.

  • well said.

  • haha, i like the analogy.
