Mainly testing out my new camera's mic, but also my ability to play the head to Donna Lee on my new Quantum 5. Hope you dig it.

  • I can always spot a guitar player that has switched to bass.... once a guitar player always a guitar player... sorry dude....

  • @ghayes649

Wrong! Try again Mr. Speculator. I played cello at one point, but never guitar. When playing jazz heads, the bass assumes a more melodic role, instead of primarily being rhythmic and harmonically supportive.

  • oh okay because ive heard tha tthe carbon fretboard really has no warmness to it but the vid kept switching on and off on how it sounded in that sense so i couldnt figure it out

  • I think I had a long index fingernail when I recorded this, which would periodically pluck the string, making it sound more sterile and biting. I always keep em nice and short these days

  • is this the carbon fretboard or did you go with the hybrid one

  • This Q5 has the phenolic fretboard. It sounds much better in person though, naturally.

  • Cut your nails, dude!! Otherwise, except for slight timing problems, good playing!

  • @Libanass Alright man, congrats to your new Modulus!

I love mine for sure... it is as stable, even and powerful sounding as a synthsizer.

Wish I got the money to order a second one.

    Cheers, have fun

  • hi

please read back what I wrote

I did NOT say modulus sounds a lot better

each one sounds amaizing and completely different

  • "complete opposite" and "Modulus sounds a lot better!" ? Buddy, you have to change your ears and attitude. The StingRay is a classic, so is the Modulus.

Don't bother writing back, it's ok, enjoy your bass.

  • hello

I just got my modulus quantum, and I still don't understand why you think it sounds like a stingray

it's the complete opposite, it can reach a very modern jazz bass clunkier sound, and it's versatile as hell

and I freakin love it, btw!

  • Yeah, you´re right! Not even close .Modulus sounds a lot better ! = )

  • @Libanass You got your opinion, I got mine. Listen to the guy above:It has similarities with a StingRay. But what the hell. No, I don't sell my Quantum, it is an awesomely even, pro quality bass. I uploaded a little video playing it.

  • well I even got the modulus flea which is supposed to be the copy of the stingray and I got a stingray as well

and they are the most different basses on earth

I tried a quantum, and it has nothing to do with a stingray. Means the playablity and specially the sound

I'm looking for a quantum, let me know if you sell yours
