(Eptesicus fuscus)
I was walking along the bluffs in search of black rat snakes and copperheads but instead found this nifty little guy. I later was told that springtime was the bat's breeding season, and that this male had probably emerged early to find a mate.
So cute!

@PantheraAtrox that is very true but it doesn't always mean rabies in most cases they more than likely just fell off of where ever they were hiding and just stayed there out of who knows what reasons.

If you see a bat on the ground especially in daylight, it's very likely to have rabies.

Less boring than you might think. We have a bat/bats right out in out backyard and we live in the heart of DFW TX I have also seen owls, racoons and other things. Just go outside at night and sit in the dark for a while, see what you can find.
