With a man on 3rd and one out the Pitcher (8 years old) orchestrates a textbook double play.
He delivers the pitch and prepares for the hit. The ball is hit back to him. He turns to hold the runner at 3rd then throws to make the out at first. The Catcher (9 years old) watches the play at first then looks to 3rd to see the runner coming home. He steps up to the plate and protects it with his left leg while turning towards the 1st baseman (10 years old) who throws the ball accurately home. The runner slides perfectly but is blocked by the catcher and tagged out. The Umpire asks to see the ball in the catchers's glove which he provides as proof and the runner is called out. A double play!
