I shot this with an HVX200 and a redrock micro 35.

I used a Nikon 85mm F1.4 lens with the M2 adapter.

  • nice! I like the way the colours pop. I just ordered an HVX200. Still doing research on the Redrock adapter and its accessories.

Did you shoot this in 720? or 1080?? I'm feeling the depth of field... one of hte reasons I stuck to film film and not video in the past. Times have sure changed. :-)

  • I used 720P on those shots... I mainly shoot with flat color then bring out the colors in post... I love the depth of field with the redrock...

  • With the M2 Adapter, do you have to use cinema lenses or will any 35mm lens do?

  • Any 35mm lens will work.. Canon, Nikon, Pentax. You just have to specify what lens type you are using when you order the redrock micro.

  • Try to use the curves instead to brighten the image and use the seperate RGB channels to see if you can adjust it to where you want it. You can also try magic bullet once you have the colors where you want them to get a style you like. Use 16 bit processing in After Effects also. It helps to keep the colors from falling apart.

  • The look has alot more to do with the lens choice you use with the Redrock micro... Get the best lenses you can find on Ebay or elsewhere.. Try to get the lowest Fstop manual leneses you can afford..

There is only one version of the redrock.. You may need to get the basic indie filmmaker package to have a complete setup...

  • Probably me changing the f stops during the shoot... These are just tests so I was not too concerned about not fiddling with the f stops..

  • Nice!

    Ahhh Bach

  • I use Nikon manual focus lenses. Also any old Pentax or Canon 35mm lenses will do as well.. So you do not need cinema lenses.
