"And because Asia is by far the fastest growing part of the world. And if Asia were to grow by replicating the kind of technologies of Europe and the United States simply to scale up, to have the same number of automobiles per household as we do in the United States or the same electricity used and so on, and that's the current trajectory. The fact of the matter is that like it or not, fair or not, whatever one wants to say, the planet absolutely will be wrecked.... so how do you have that economic growth that Asia wants, feels understandably is deserved, but how does this occur in a way which respects the natural balance, it's not whether we like it or not, not what we call fair, but the so-called ecological or ecosystem constraints? Now, the answer is nobody knows."
