Buy the Aver PCIe HD PVR:

United States: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002SQE1O0/ref=nosim/phtfilms-20
United Kingdom: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002MRROO4?&tag=UKpht-21

Test of the NEW Avermedia HD PVR which was released in November 2009 by Avermedia.

* PLEASE NOTE: This product has only been used for this particular review video. It was returned by the owner (PHT member) since they were unable to increase the recording bitrate manually. At the time they were unaware of being able to use FRAPS or VHCAPTURE with this specific product.

Since then an alternative method of recording has been used by other YT's by directly capturing the live output of the AVER software using a 3rd party screen capture program. Recommend programs are FRAPS and VHCAPTURE

PLEASE NOTE, this product is encrypted by HDCP over HDMI, so you are NOT going to be able to record Encrypted content using the HDMI connection on things such as the PS3, DVD, Blu Ray, Cable box, etc... However, you can record using the Analog Connections (Component, S-video, Composite).

UPDATE:

Using a screen capture program, you can manually record the Aver Media Center Program while it is outputting whatever you want to record on your monitor. This way you are bypassing the limitations (bitrate) of said program by directly capturing what it is displaying on your screen.Such programs include FRAPS and VHcapture and can be found using any Search Engine.

  • @ljohnsonljohnson9423

    READ THE DESCRIPTION.

  • whenever i use hdmi to capture it shows no picture. when i use the av standard quality thats the only time it lets me record. look at my videos to see.

  • @ThExBeAsTeR

Ask your friend GOOGLE about HDCP.

Then again, there is a work around using VHCapture.

  • does it come with the xbox capatable cords?

  • @Hank62215

Picture quality will NOT change from public/private to local/online gameplay.

  • AverMedia Updated the Software now which lets you record at 40,000kbs instead of the 15,000kbs that the old Software used.
