XTERRA Mountainman Triathlon 2011

The setting for this triathlon video is the stunning Ka'a'awa Valley, home to Kualoa Ranch on the windward side of Oahu. The valley is familiar to movie and television watchers worldwide, having served as a location for numerous productions, including Jurrasic Park, Fifty First Dates, and Hawaii 5-0.

Conditions for the 2011 XTERRA Mountainman Triathlon were overcast, with heavy, intermittent showers and temperatures in the high 70's - low 80's. The event began with a 1.6 mile bike-cruise from the finish line to the start of the swim/T1. Racers then charged into a 750m open water swim, a steep (and sometimes slick) 12k off-road bike course, and a challenging 6k cross-country run.
