Fallout 3 Alien Blaster - HD

Here's how to get the Alien Blaster!
Just north of Minefield

Info:
Damage: 65 (100% crit)
Spread: 0 (exactly where you aim)
Ability Points: 20 per VATS shot

In Fallout 3 the Alien Blaster is one of the most powerful weapons in the game because a critical hit is guaranteed. You will more than often be able to take down any foe you encounter with one well-aimed shot to the head. There is only 329 Alien Power Cells in the game so use them wisely!
The Alien Blaster can be given to Defender Casdin, in front of Fort Independence in exchange for a large amount of ammunition, medicine or grenades (it's worth 484 5.56mm or 20 stimpaks/radaway/frag grenades). This shouldn't be done though, since it's the most powerfull weapon in the game.
The only ways to repair the Alien Blaster aside from the usual vendors, are by using the Firelance as spare parts. Or alternatively, giving it to Defender Casdin, and stealing it back (or killing him and retrieving it from his corpse). It will be at 100% condition. It should be noted that pickpocketing Casdin is difficult, so you shouldn't give him the Alien Blaster unless you're prepared to pickpocket him unsuccessfully many, many times (you may get lucky and steal it back after six, or it could be over 70 attempts. Seriously) before you get your gun back (or whatever other item he'll accept that you want repaired to 100%).
It's also worth noting that this weapon, though very powerful, will quickly degrade (likely due to its rough landing on Earth) and be rendered useless, so stick to VATS or carefully-aimed headshots.

There are many things on this that share similarities to ME special effects. Laser to incendiary, plasma to toxic and this to ice, though there is no shatter after the enemy is defeated (instead they are vaporized).
