The Robinson Arms XCR was a multi-caliber firearm system developed by Robinson Armament Co., and competed unsuccessfully against the FN SCAR for a United States special operations weapon requirement. The firearm continued development and has been offered to the public (in some configurations only) and other buyers. The firearm can be changed between 5.56 mm and 7.62 x 39 mm calibers and 11.5, 14.5, 16.2, 18.5, or 20 inch (292, 368, 411, 470, or 508 mm) barrel lengths within a few minutes. It can also be configured for 6.8 SPC. There are other abilities as well, such as the ability to mount various scopes (Picatinny Rail mount) and equipment, single stage trigger, folding stock, ambidextrous controls, and the ability to survive harsh environments. According to the Robinson Arms website, "The XCR utilizes a heavy duty bolt and extractor connected to an AK47 type gas piston." The bolt and extractor are especially designed and patented by RA, and promoted as offering higher performance over M16/M4 type bolts. Deliveries of the first main production began in mid-2006. RA also markets other products, such as their M96 firearms, based on the Stoner 63 system. The first batch of XCRs released to the civilian market had soft sears and were recalled to prevent slam fires.

I have fired the XCR suppressed and it is phenomena! Ultra quiet, smooth and controllable. It is a great weapon.
