This is my DAILY WARM UP.
I play very very soft, no tongue at the first note, and keep my lips very soft, not too much contact with the mouthpiece, but not too less.

  • Hey, great control! It's good to see some proper Pedaltones played on youtube. I'm working on getting that Pedal C with the open fingering. Did you base this off of James Stamp?

  • Yes, it's based on Stamp, but the technic of permanent contact/position of the mouthpiece is from Carusso.

Don't worry if you need to leave your lip out of the mouthpiece to get that C. When you got it, try to get your lip into the right place.

You'll note immediatelly how bigger is your sound after few minutes.

  • O sorry

  • Don't worry.

Come back soon, I plan to upload more technical videos.

    Best regards !!!

  • Wat scale is that? Its sounds like.... a scale

  • Not scales at all, just arpeges.

Sounds like what it is... WARM UP !!!

  • I need to get more strict with my warm up and warm downs. When I first pick up the trumpet for the day my lips don't want to vibrate in the upper register. It takes a long time to soften them up. If you get time check out my solo's and let me know what you think.

  • o kol!
