R.W. Norton Art Gallery and Gardens, Shreveport, LA
First blooming of the Azaleas, April 7, 2010
The R.W. Norton Gardens is a treasure to our area. People travel from all over the world to visit the gallery and gardens. Spring time brings the blooming of about a million Azalea blossoms! The gardens also feature many other plants and flowers- Dogwoods, Camelias, Oaks, Live Oaks, Ferns, Japanese Maples, and many, many other plants, trees, and flowers. It's truly a paradise!
The gallery houses one of the largest collections of Remington and Russell works (sculptures, paintings, etc.) and works from the Hudson River School, Rodin, Cassatt and many other artists.
And it's all open to the public and FREE!
One of my favorite places on earth! (Seriously!)
