Hee. Love the PLASTIC pumpkins back in the 18th century. Still, this was a great show back in the day...

@jase123111 Halloween is still not considered a Christian holiday in the United States. Our family doesn't even celebrate it. We do go to a fall festival at our church, where the kids can play games and win prizes, ride on ponies, eat junk food, etc.

@Rowan07001484 the kids in Sarahs time were village kids i think they came onto the propety to taunt Sarah as i think Sarah was the daughter of the ownwrs and miss Vole was her governess but the kids would sneak onto the land to bully sarah

Ms Vole deserved that ending, I wonder what actually happened, did the Devil get her, was she exiled into Oblivion, whatever it was she had it coming

Who are those children. Why are they on that property all the time. Do they live in the house too. Or are they farm kids or something. It's odd how they would running about on private property.

Halloween was not origionally a christian festival. The Druids celebrated it as the time when the veil between this world and the World of the Ancestors was drawn aside They made contact with the spirits of the departed, who were sources of guidance. They viewed the realm of the ancestors not as a realm of the dead, but as the repository of tribal wisdom where the ancestor awaited reincarnation..

@jase123111 The style we celebrate it in, it's very pagan, whether Hallowe'en, Easter (Eostre) or Christmas (winter solstice).. we ritually stuff our faces with food (originally from the tradition of using up ancient Britons' extra autumn stores in anticipation of spring..). We decorate our distinctly Northern European fir trees which have no counterpart in the Bible. These traditions are preserved, out of long habit from a pagan ancestry, long pre-date Christianity's arrival in Britain.
