  • I am so glad that your house was ok. I was worried about it this week after you mentioned it Sunday. Thanks for checking in and letting us know.

  • Yeah doomsday! Thanks for the thoughts!

  • Sometimes we really take the Fire Department for granted. Glad things are okay with ya.

  • I really want to be a fireman when I grow up....I really do......it's amazing. Everything is burned outside of people's yards.

  • Saw this on myspace before here, glad you're one of the lucky ones bro. I've seen the pics that are circulating on the wire in the newsroom here and it sickens me to see all that devastation.

  • Thanks bigray....maybe I'm just in a "thankfull mood" but after looking at these Youtube videos, I'm amazed at what was saved.

  • I am happy you did not lose your home, im sure you will wave and say hi to the fireman when you see them out now. It takes something like this for most of us to really know how much we need fireman and the police.

  • starting at 5:09 that wind sounded real crazy

  • glad you didnt lose your house man

  • Thank God for firefighters.

  • You did an excellent job reporting on this. I live in Maryland and on the news you don't see the details that you covered. To see how close that fire came makes me thank God that I live on the other side of the continent. Great job reporting though!

  • Wow.. You are lucky. I'm glad you are safe. Is your name really Shango? I think it's the second video in my favorites or maybe the third it's a song called Shango! Ashe

  • I gotta tell ya, seeing a patch of scorched earth that stretches for miles & miles is very sobering & humbling.

  • Another time I was driving I-40 across New Mex. & the Cibolo Forest was on fire miles to the south. The smoke went all the way across the horizon & at one point came north across the interstate. Smoke from a grass fire smells bad, but the smoke from that Cibolo Pine forest smelled wonderful. Too bad it destroyed so much acreage tho.

  • I was driving south on I-5 about 2-3 years ago making a Budweiser delivery to Van Nuys. Just north of Santa Clarita I drove over some mt. tops where they had just gotten a big fire under control enough to let traffic thru. I remember thinking how scary it would be to see smoke & flames coming toward one's home.

  • Now you know what to do if they ever put a Fireman's pay raise up for vote.
