KMP held a press party at Social, Bangsar, to celebrate H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's latest book, "If not now, when?". The party was a blast with celebrities and prominent members of society reading quotes from the book and the editors, Jamie and Sharon, were also interviewed by NTV7 and featured on the Breakfast show!

Wow! Kudos to Jamie Khoo and Sharon Saw. Wonderful work to spread BuddhaDharma far and wide through the book and its on-going promotion of the Dharma.

However, if we're raising money because so-and-so has this TV, car, etc and we want a bigger one...what's going to happen when the next big TV comes along? When is the chase going to end? When weve got that TV-that-is-bigger-than-our-neighbours, how long are we happy for? There will always be someone bigger, better, smarter, richer than us. If we keep trying to beat people, we're going to spend our whole lives chasing goals that don't lead to unchanging, lasting happiness.

It's not that Rinpoche is putting down the wealthy. He's just asking us to think about our actions, and our consistent pursuit of the 'wrong' goals. He's also asking us to think about our motivation for the pursuit of such goals. If we're trying to raise money purely for the spread of dharma, or for some other beneficial purpose, then by all means do it.

I agree with you redseb86. Unfortunately they are but at the same time, they are also the people who need dharma the most. They face some of the greatest inner suffering. Money doesn't bring you happiness - Rinpoche has taught in the past that if acquiring outer achievements makes us happy, then why is depression so rife? Why do rich people still go to therapists, or still commit suicide? Surely if money and materialism brought true happiness, none of these problems would exist amongst the rich!

Yes, it's a really good way to keep connected to Kechara House. nmc is beautifully designed, and is edited by the wonderful Chief English Editor Jamie aka the Dharma Princess! The articles are always accompanied by great pictures for those of us who don't like to read too much text! ;)
Download and print it off for your friends to read!

Hahaha yes it's all that! The new cover is gorgeous! Rinpoche looks very very good on it, very much like Tsongkhapa himself! There's a picture of the new cover design on kecharahouseDOTcom. And like I told wooyoo65, the new book is already out online! If you Google "Gurus for Hire eBook", you'll be able to find the link so you can download it in eBook format ;)

"If Not Now, When?" is most definitely a very different sort of coffee table book (0:31)! ;)
allforbuddha, if you can't get it in the local bookstores, check out kecharaDOTcom. At the moment, the website is down for maintenance but keep checking back! It's definitely worth the wait...very simple and in easy-to-understand language, but the message in it is very deep and can bring immediate benefit our everyday lives.
