KWin in KDE 4.1 alpha 1-somthing

This is a video from KWin made some time after KDE 4.1 alpha 1. It shows some of the new features in KWin. Unfortunately the recording is to slow to really capture the more subtle effects, but at least it gives an impression ;-)

Plus, Compiz haz some issues with KDE 3.5.9

In my end, the pager gets berserk and splits itself in 4 desktops even if I only have 2, and you need a workaround for the taskbar, so it shows only the current viewport's applications (and it's a dirty hack, actually =) )

But Compiz is not so configurable and well-integrated as KWin in 3.5.9. KDE 3.5.9 + KWin is an absolute desktop experience for me also :-)

I Still use the mature KDE 3.5.9 without Compiz. Compiz doesn't work well. I cannot switch normally to another desktop. So my powerful So I will be glad when this stuff works in KDE 4.X. The speed of Compiz could be bigger because of it is much older than Kwin 4. I think KWin finally will be as great as Compiz.

Can't help but think that Compiz still is faster (and prettier) than KWin in most cases. Atleast that's my impression with the latest KWin and an NVidia graphics.
