Pixelux DMM plugin - quick test.
Flickering is caused by very low Raytracing settings.

  • @frankytap Use a mia_material_x with the "glass physical" preset. Go to the advanced refraction tab and make shure you don't use a max distance or increase it. The material uses a maximum trace depth of 8, but mental ray will calculate a trace depth of only 1 by default. Therefore increase the max tracedepths within the quality tab of the render settings. Keep in mind that reflections are very important for realistic glass, so either create an environment or use an IBL.

  • if not a tutorial on the plugin, then on how to render glass like that? looks really good, having trouble getting it look realistic

  • @SilentAssassin1991 Sorry, I won't make a tutorial. But i recommend the "Breaking Pillars" Tutorial on the AREA.

  • If you do a tutorial on this it would be great.I was just trying to make something like that.
