I live in Yakima, Wa and have been getting to know Larry over the past six years. A truly humble, unassuming man. You'd never know that he was responsible for being a huge, huge, huge part of our popular music landscape. I don't think most the people in our town really appreciated him or knew what his contributions were and how significant he was.
I was privileged to meet him for lunch a year ago and have a fantastic discussion about his career.
Larry Knechtel R.I.P. From the days when he was just a name on the back of my Partridge Family albums to his amazing arrangement of Bridge Over Troubled Water for Simon and Garfunkel to his great collaboration with the great Elvis Costello on Kojak Variety, his accomplisments are as varied as they are impossible to adequately cover in a little blurb such as this. The best way to sum him up: he made me happy...a lot. :-)
@ajmauriello Why!? I think he's amazing!

This is great! i thought Costello's voice would sound weak next to their voices but it doesn't, and it works!
