Once I had a little girl, sometimes i think about her
But buddy you know, she's not really there,
When memories do call, i just - I just can't live without her,
but crying all the time, is so hard to bear.
Greatest song ever made. Makes my heart bleed.

The 5 dislikes must be near deaf. Classic GFR.

so they're not good enuf for the rock-n-roll hall of fame???? maybe that should be considered an honor considering some of the "talent" that made it in.

@zackhample No sadly its just how old analog data got transferred to binary on the cd, to the digital format you have now. Just too many data transformations.

Live version was so much better.

One of the most dramatic moments in recorded rock music history begins at the 5:08 mark. Just after Mark does his customary song-ending, banjo-like BLANGA-BLANGA-BLANGA, he engages the fuzztone and launches back into the song! The "mighty" Railroad--one of the greatest bands in history at making you think a song is over, but it's not. Otherwise, this song may have just been another ordinary sappy sad ballad!

@zackhample It is just feedback! There is feedback all through their first album, which this track is from, because Mark's guitar had an issue with uncontrolled feedback due to the "semi-hollow" nature of the guitar, which he eventually tried to rectify by putting foam inside the "f-holes" and tape to cover it up. This was one of the first tracks they recorded together as a group, and Mark had just gotten this guitar, so I'm thinking this is before he fixed the problem. Nice "woman tone", though
From the GFR songs I remember, this one is among top three. Great solo. Many thanks for placing it here JMoore!
