  • Placing a massive tax on an industry that provides thousands of jobs in Pennsylvania sounds very bad to me. Bankrupting an industry because of bullshit science sounds bad to me. But I know these people and the families they feed, so it's a little personal to me.

  • what happened to utah in the states?

  • This clown is off his rocker! Hey fat boys out there let's bankrupt the ice cream industry. If you want to produce ice cream go ahead but we'll tax you out of existence! B Hussein is bar none the scariest mother f*ck*r there has ever been in American politics!!

  • I totally agree - fear can arise from purposeful tactics and/or from speaking before the facts are in. To alleviate very real concerns that people in the coal industry have about losing jobs, Obama needs to have very real facts at hand before shooting from the hip.

  • True.. Cleaner output is necessary... I do not like Obama. However, the man is intelligent and befoe he begins to threaten the livelihood of so many people, he needs to really press these engineers/scientists to further their research for some real cost effective ways to do this.

There is a lot to look at on all of this. I worked in banking for 6 yrs. before going back to college and one of the biggest things I learned is, Don't threaten ppl's security. Usually money and sources of getting it.

  • "...the wide-ranging interview also included the Illinois Senator's comments that the idea of eliminating coal plants was ''an illusion."

Palin and her GOP cronies only tell what they want to tell. Rarely do they reveal the whole truth because it is in their interest to scare the hell out of Americans, just like Bush and Cheney tried to do constantly...Obama is not a bogey-man who is going to do away with coal. But how can anyone deny that cleaner coal output is necessary???

  • If John McCain said he was willing to bankrupt a major industry, his declaration would immediately have been front page news!

  • Are hearing this verbatim, but justifying in your mind what this man plans to do? Do you know how many workers this will affect, and how many families will be without food on their tables?

  • Thank You DaGoosemon!!!!Welfare being the key word to SOME IDIOTS !!!!REMEBER 7thDay!!! If these people do not work, then it is less taxes for your HANDOUTS and more people on your welfare and food stamp programs.

Before you know it there will be NO WEALTH LEFT TO SPREAD AROUND !

CRAP LIKE THIS WILL SOON HAVE THE WHOLE COUNTRY IN WELFARE !!!

    SO "7thDay", WTF??????????

  • Coal provides 50% of our nation's energy. Obama promises to bankrupt the coal industry. Let's hope the coal miners hear about this!!
