Is Prime Minister Raila Odinga a man under siege politically? His relationship with Agriculture Minister William Ruto and a section of Kalenjin mps has been on the rocks, since he began overseeing the Mau evictions. A political alliance associated with Ruto, Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and his tourism counterpart Najib Balala is seen as crafted to drive Raila out of town come 2012. But is Raila's political reign over? Described in his biography as an enigma in Kenyan politics, can the new alliance scare Raila? Francis Gachuri reports.
Mau dabate was a national agenda and someone in the govt. had to raise it up and who else except leader of govt. business???its Raila fot that job and people should not blame it on Kibaki for handing over that task to Agwambo!!!!
current politcal leaders are like PROSTITUTES coz they join one alliance to another for poltical gains.
Ruto and Raila are taking separate ways now coz 2012 doesnt seem to suit one of them... Kenyans needs a new complete set of leaders...

I disagree with Willy Koechs' comment that Raila may have to rely on Central Kenya should he fall out with some of the Kalenjin leaders. Let hindsight educate him that Ruto wanted Kalonzo as the Presidential candidate in 2007. It is the grassroot support Raila enjoys in RV that made him turn around. Let it be instructive that should Ruto, Kalonzo and Uhuru agree to form a party, they shall be faced with the same problems of agreeing on the key positions including their presidential candidate.
