Hi, Welcome to our video series for English and Thai learners. 50/50 (or hah-sip/hah-sip) will give English-speakers an introduction to Thai daily life and Thai language. It will also give Thai-speakers a chance to improve their English and show them how to use it with foreigners (farang).

This first show is a bit rough. We just came up with the idea, grabbed a camera and went out and did it. But hopefully, in time we'll improve. Of course, your comments and feedback are always welcome! And don't forget to subscribe so you won't miss any updates!

  • The video assumes one already understands the alphabet. Also, it was too quick!

  • @dollarability Thanks for the feedback, you're right about it being quick, but I figured people could just pause and replay parts they wanted to hear again.

Also, I disagree with using Romanized Thai words like "Gin" or "Rong-Tau" because it leads people to mispronouncing the words. Using the Thai letters, although more difficult at first, is the best way to ensure that you are saying the word correctly.

  • does anyone know what books are good to learn thai??

  • Nice video.

But when you pronounce Tor Tahaan you need to have more an aspiration on the T sound.

Maybe its just bad audio but everytime it sounds like you are saying Hor Hiip.
